About the Initiative
The Immersive Art and Technology Initiative was developed to assist diverse participation and cultural representation in the creative and public use of various forms of immersive technology, such as artificial intelligence, augmented, and extended reality. Ten grantee organizations conducted workshops, professional development, and hands-on opportunities to deepen the knowledge of and support for emerging and frontier technology as an art form across New York State. The 2022 Immersive Art and Technology Initiative was a Regrant Partnership of NYSCA and Wave Farm, and made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
