Description
The Alliance is an advocate, organizing common efforts to increase funding and involve arts groups in economic and educational policymaking. We are a publisher of cultural tourism and arts education guides, research reports and electronic publications. We develop electronic applications for publishing and research activities using 4 Web sites: the Estate Project, NYC ARTS, NYCkidsARTS & a general site. We have taken the lead with DCA in developing the Citywide Cultural Database. We are expanding this system to the entire state with support from ESDC and U.S. Dept. of HUD. This will be the most comprehensive resource of its kind, both a centralized location to access information about culture in New York and a gateway to other cultural resources. We are a nonprofit research center, analyzing issues in the cultural community and organizing advocacy efforts for government funding based on research. We are based in NYC but are also a national organization through the Estate Project.
