Established in 1997 as a not-for-profit multimedia arts organization, with a central place assigned to the Internet and the convergence of old and new media, Location One is creating a new environment for contemporary art. We believe that when artists with different expressive and cultural sensibilities collaborate on creative projects, they affect and enrich each other. We invite local and international artists from diverse fields of expression to create collaborative work, and to experiment with advanced technological tools and delivery systems. They work in our studios (in residencies) with guidance from our technology experts. As they incorporate the use of these new technological tools into their working process, we believe they will develop new forms of aesthetic expression and redefine the artistic process. All work created here is presented in Location One's gallery space, broadcast live at www.location1.org , as well as archived on the website for future public reference.
