The mission of the Frederick Douglass Creative Arts Center, Inc. is to develop African-American and other professional artists in the fields of Writing, Acting and Production by offering professional training through writing workshops in Prose Fiction, Poetry, Screenwriting, Playwriting, Journalism, and workshops in Acting, Documentary Production, Television Production and Film Production; to produce theater, television and film and to serve as a conduit for artistic products developed at the Center; to publish newsletters, magazines and monographs developed at the Center and to encourage, present and promote literary talents and other creative talents in communities of color; to assemble a group of concerned persons both from within and from outside the particular community involved to work together for such ends.
