Drunkenboat.com is an international online journal for the arts that publishes more traditional forms of representation, such as poetry, prose, and photography, alongside works of art endemic to the medium of the web, such as hypertext, audio, video, and interactive web art. Drunkenboat.com is also dedicated to principles of the egalitarian reception and distribution of art, its audience constituted by tens of thousands of readers around the world and its art created by a diverse group of artists and writers. We create a space where art can help community development, even help mobilize political action. The work we publish IS the future of serious literature, and Drunkenboat exists to create dialogue, to open space for difficult questioning, to raze stagnant aesthetic boundaries, to preserve dying languages, to publish works others deem unpublishable while proliferating new vocabularies, to provide a global forum for the important voices - whatever medium - for the 21st century.
