The Whaling Museum Society Revised Mission Statement Adopted by unanimous resolution of the Board of Trustees March 15, 2004 The mission of the Whaling Museum is to collect, preserve, exhibit and interpret artifacts of whaling, whales, maritime heritage both at sea and ashore, and local history, focused principally on Cold Spring Harbor, New York. Collections include objects, images, documents, books and other materials which pertain to these subjects and illuminate how whales, ships and the sea have shaped our local heritage.
